If you're starting out , I'd start out with the Adobe Elements (Photoshop and Premiere) line before jumping into the professional line. It takes time to learn them. Yes, the software comes with tutes and there is a big help function plus support from Adobe and the community sites like Creative Cow. You can also buy training from Total Training or Digital Tutors. You can try to download free software that may or may not be full of viruses. Elements will give you a good start
