A question to the military Mormons?

They were most likely trying to meet a size and/or weight goal and so in order to meet that goal they cut out the Old Testament. I have heard that the US armed forces has been trying to cut back on the amount of weight that a soldier has to carry. It is not a statement of lack of worth but more a statement of the most they could get for the size/weight ratio.
